Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus has picked Dutch defender of Ghanaian descent, Jeremie Agyekum Frimpong, as the Breakout Star of the 2024 European Championship.

He said this in an interview with West Ham media after starring in his debut season at the London club following a headline move from Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam.

The 2024 Euros kicked off on Friday, June 14 in Germany with host nation Germany beating Scotland 5-1 and Switzerland beat Hungary 3-1 to complete the first round of games in Group A.

Swiss striker Kwadwo Duah ,who is also of Ghanaian descent, scored his debut goal for Switzerland in the win over Hungary.

Coming off a brilliant season where he excelled in Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga and German Cup title winning team, Frimpong is one of the highly rated young players in this year’s Euros.

The 23 year old right wing back registered nine goals and nine assists in 31 Bundesliga games; he produced 14 goals and 12 assists in 47 games in all competitions.
