Accra Great Olympics Football Club have been relegated from the Ghana Premier League after finishing in 16th place in the 18 team league.
The Dade Boys ended the 2023-2024 campaign with 11 wins, 11 draws and 12 losses including the crucial goalless draw with city rivals Accra Hearts of Oak with the draw meaning Olympics’ survival destiny wasn’t in their hands.
Despite recording a win via forfeiture after the already relegated Real Tamale United failed to honour its matchup against Olympics with the latter side earning three points and three goals subsequently, the Dade Boys needed relegation threatened teams like Hearts and Karela United to drop points but they didn’t.
In the face of a very poor campaign that has Olympics relegated from the Premier League to the Access Bank Division One League Zone 3, Olympics stopper Benjamin Asare emerged as a rare highpoint of the campaign.
The 31 year old, kept a league leading 16 clean sheets; Olympics conceded 27 goals and scored 27 goals in the just ended season.

In a related development, 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex 1996, had the best home record winning 16 of 17 games in Samreboi.
