Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, says he is far from happy despite Hearts of Oak beating Bechem United to survive in the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season.
He expressed his displeasure in a post game interview after Hearts beat Bechem United 3-2 in Bechem to end the season in 14th place and avoid getting relegated after flirting with the drop zone in the final rounds of the campaign.
In the just ended season, Hearts registered 11 win games, drew 12 games and lost 11 other games to finish two spots worse than last season’s position.
Kelvin Asibey and Yaw Baafi scored in the 70th minute and 74th minute to complete Hearts of Oak’s comeback after trailing 2-1 with 30 minutes left to play.
“To be frank, I’m not happy because that’s not Hearts position to be in. When we started the second round, after three or four games, we were just seven points behind the league leaders but today we struggled to survive. I think it’s very bad for us” the Ivorian said.

Aside finishing low in the Premier League standings, Hearts of Oak missed out on a making a deep run in the MTN FA Cup.
