Young Apostles FC of Wenchi have been promoted to the Ghana Premier League after their victory over Techiman Heroes in a penalty shoot-out.

The two teams engaged in a play-off to determine who would make it to the Ghana Premier League for the 2024/2025 season.

Young Apostles FC and Techiman Heroes won their respective Zone 1 groups which necessitated the play-off.

The ninety-minute game ended with a 1-1 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The extra 30 minutes played could not separate the two sides as well.

This led to the penalty shoot-out which was the ultimate decision.

Young apostles won the game with 4-3 results.

The game was graced by the Attorney General and Minister for Justice Godfred Yeboah Dame who is a life patron for the Young Apostles.

Mr. Dame who also hails from Wenchi cheered from the stands as he watched a team of young talents, he has always been interested in securing such a historic win.

The players after the game and with joy visited the office of Godfred Dame to showcase the trophy won and express appreciation to him.

Godfred Dame in turn expressed gratitude for the gesture.

The Attorney General who is celebrating his birthday a day after the victory noted that the win by the team is the best birthday gift he can think of.
