The former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder excelled in his debut season at West Ham culminating in a second place finish in the club’s Player of the Year Awards voting.

His brilliant strike against SC Freiburg in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 clash at the London Stadium was named Goal of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards.

In his speech, Kudus invited Issahaku to his side and praised him for the strives he has made in his career after helping Leicester City gain promotion to the English Premier League while on loan from Sporting Lisbon.

“I will like to thank Fatawu for coming here to come and support even though he is part of the nominees as well. As part of the new generation, one of my aim is to increase the unity and the love between us. He has pushed me a lot this season and I have pushed him a lot…I want to use this opportunity to tell him how proud I am of his journey, how far he has come and what he has done this season at Leicester.”
