Deputy Communications Director of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Benjamin William Graham, has stated that Ghanaian athletes set to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games are calm.

He said this in an exclusive interview with ChannelOne Sports as the team camps in Strasbourg in the lead up to the Games start date on July 26 in Paris.

Two swimmers (Joselle Mensah and Harry Stacey), high jumper Rose Yeboah and members of the Men’s 4×100 Relay Team including Benjamin Azamati and Joseph Paul Amoah make up the nine-member contingent for Ghana.

Despite recording just a bronze medal win at the 2020 Olympics, Graham stated that Ghana’s athletes are preparing for the Games “one day at a time”.

“These athletes are taking things very calm and cool, one day at a time. They are not under any pressure. Like I said, these athletes are professionals, they have had different meets, different championship races back in the US, in Europe, they know most of the athletes they are going to meet.”

“So speaking to them, they are very calm. They are not under any pressure, they are not tensed, they are not worried who they are going to meet when the Games start.”
