Ghana Black Stars defensive midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has expressed his excitement after completing a move to Italian Serie A side Atalanta; Atalanta won the Europa League title last season.

Sulemana joins the club on a four and a half year deal after excelling at fellow Serie A side Cagliari last season catching the eye of a handful of interested clubs.

The 21 year old excelled in the 2023-2024 season with two goals in 24 games in the Serie A and Italy Cup combined and his move to Atalanta marks a return to the team he tried out with five years ago.

On signing the deal, Sulemana stated how excited he was to return to the club and added that he is ready to compete for the team.

“Excited to be back home Atalanta BC where my European journey started five years ago. I can’t wait to give my all on the field to the people of Bergamo.”
