The CAF 2025 AFCON qualifiers have been set in the wake of the conclusion of the official draw for the competition.

The 2025 AFCON will take place in Morocco in December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026; the competition was originally scheduled to take place in June and July next year but major changes to the CAF calendar forced the competition to be moved. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Ghana has been drawn in Group F with Sudan, Angola and Niger with the top two ranked nations at the end of a round robin slate of games qualifying automatically to the competition.

There are 12 groups in all and four time African Champions Ghana’s biggest test is set to be against a Sudanese side coached by former Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah.

Appiah won the AFCON in 1982 as a player and led Ghana as a coach in the 2019 AFCON and 2013 AFCON that had Ghana reach the round of 16 and semifinal stage respectively.

Under Appiah, Sudan lead Group B in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with 10 points from four games and rank ahead of 2021 AFCON champions Senegal.

Ghana beat Angola en route to qualifying to the 2023 AFCON where the Black Stars got eliminated at the group stage. Scroll down to view full draw.
