Ghana forward, Abdul Aziz Yakubu, has completed a deal to Japan’s Shimizu S-Pulse Football Club after playing out the second half of the 2023-2024 season in Portugal.
The 25 year old sealed the move that is reportedly worth three million euros with Shimizu that competes in the second tier of Japanese football.
By joining Shimizu this time of the year, Yakubu gets the chance to see out the remainder of the J2 league season that is 23 games into a 38 game campaign.
At the time of writing, Shimizu rank third in the 20 team league standings with 49 points on the back of registering 16 wins, a draw and six losses.
Shimizu rank third in the standings tied on points with Yokohama FC and a point behind league leaders V-Varen Nagasaki. Shimizu’s next game is against Kyoto Sanga in the third round of the Emperor’s Cup on Wednesday, July 10.

In the immediate past season, Yakubu played six times for Chinese Super League side Wuhan Three Towns and 16 times for Rio Ave in Portugal. He scored seven goals and registered four assists in all competitions.
