The draw to determine opponents for FC Samartex and Nsoatreman FC in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup respectively will be held on Thursday, July 11.
The draw will be held in Cairo, Egypt exactly a week after the draw for the CAF 2025 AFCON Qualifiers were held with Ghana drawn in Group F with Angola, Sudan and Niger.
Citi Sports understands that the top ranked CAF teams will get a bye in the first round; defending champions Al-Ahly of Egypt, TP Mazembe of DR Congo, Esperance de Tunis of Tunisia, Petro Luanda of Angola and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
Samartex will represent Ghana in the Champions League after winning the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League title while competing in the top flight in only its second season.
By winning the MTN FA Cup, Nsoatreman FC will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup and recently confirmed former Accra Great Olympics coach Yaw Preko as its new head coach after replacing Maxwell Konadu. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
