Black Stars duo, Tariq Lamptey and Ibrahim Osman have been included in English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion’s pre-season tour of Japan.
Lamptey and Osman form part of The Seagulls’ 31 man playing contingent that is set to compete in a series of friendly games ahead of the 2024-2025 EPL season.
Osman recently joined Brighton despite being signed by the club in the January transfer window for 20 million euros from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland.
He joins former Right To Dream Academy product Simon Adingra on Brighton’s roster and after his unveiling, Osman revealed that he had engaged Adingra before joining Brighton. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Osman and Lamptey were involved in the Black Stars recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic. Ghana won both games.

The tour marks the first outing for new Brighton coach Fabian Hurzerler who took as manager from the departed Roberto De Zerbi.

Japan is the home country of Brighton’s star player Kaoru Mitoma and the playing unit includes highly rated young players including Facundo Buonanotte, Jeremy Sarmiento, Simon Adingra and Yankuba Minteh.

However, top names like Evan Ferguson and Julio Enciso have not been included in the list with Enciso on holidays after competing at the 2024 Copa America with Paraguay and Ferguson recently recovering from injury.
