FC Samartex 1996 captain and midfielder, Emmanuel Keyekeh, has stated that the club is ready for the African challenge ahead.
Samartex are preparing to compete in the CAF Champions League next season after winning the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League title.
The Samreboi-based team won its first ever league title in only its second season competing in the top flight. Samartex won the league with 61 points; 10 points ahead of second placed Accra Lions.
Speaking in an interview after winning the Home-Based Footballer of the Year Award at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards, Keyekeh believes his team is ready to take on the upcoming challenge after addressing his time with Kumasi Asante Kotoko. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“We knew the task ahead before we opted to win the League trophy so I will say we are definitely ready” he stated before admitting that missing out on the Goal of the Year Award was down to keen competition.

“It was a tough one (competition), a couple of beautiful goals. It was a big contest and the best person won” he said on the award Mohammed Kudus won.

Keyekeh’s fine performance has attracted serious interest from African clubs.
