Executive Secretary of the Goldfields Ghana Foundation, Abdel-Razak Yakubu, has expressed his excitement about the anticipated impact the newly built TNA Stadium will have on the lives of people living in Tarkwa.
He said this in an interview with ChannelOne Sports ahead of the official commissioning of the grand sports edifice; gold mining firm Goldfields Ghana Limited funded the construction of the stadium.
The 10,000 seater stadium will host home football games for Ghana Premier League side Medeama Sporting Club and serve other entertainment and social gathering purposes and the eventual impact has got Abdel-Razak Yakubu excited.
“Excitement. Excitement because of the anticipated impact that we think this project will have. If you look at the interest generated in Tarkwa” he said before speaking on the motivation behind the construction of the stadium.

“Social cohesion and the second one is the economic reason. Economic because a stadium like this one is going to attract huge events not just sporting events but entertainment events as well and all that brings about a boost in economic activity.”
