President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has expressed his enthusiasm about BetPawa’s substantial investment in Ghanaian football.
On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, BetPawa, the leading mobile sports betting company in Ghana, partnered with the Ghana Football Association to inaugurate a newly built standard artificial football pitch at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, funded by BetPawa.
Speaking to the media during the commissioning of the BetPawa Pitch, Okraku emphasized that the construction of the modern Astroturf is crucial to the association’s efforts in advancing and developing football in the country.
“I will start by saying thank you to BetPawa.When we had the announcement months ago I’m very sure there were a lot of people who didn’t think that it would see the light of day but we kept faith with BetPawa.
We have always seen them as a good and strategic partner.
“Low and behold we are here today to commission the pitch. We have had the old pitch for close to 15 years, and obviously, with the growth in the number of our national teams, it was very clear that we needed more investment in this place.”
For BetPawa to invest huge sums of money in the construction of this pitch will only buy help our football association and our strategy in developing talent.”
“Currently we have 20 national team and this has come at the right moment for us.”
Charles Tape, the African business development manager of Betpawa indicated that his outfit looks to have the next black stars player emerge from this initiative.
“We are looking to have the next superstar emerge soon. I am a fan of the black stars, kudus and of course the Ayew brothers were some of my icons while growing up so I’m keen to see the next generation of those talent emerge from this place .”
The BetPawa pitch was commissioned in the early hours of Tuesday, August 27 ahead of the 30th ordinary congress of the Football Association which was attended by former Ghana Football Association Chairman from 2001 to 2005, Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, current FA boss Kurt Okraku and some members of the executive council of the ghana football association together with club administrators in Ghana.
