Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club midfielder, Emmanuel Antwi, has praised the quality of the pitch at the newly constructed Tarkwa and Aboso (TNA) Stadium.
The 10,000 seater stadium was officially commissioned with a friendly game between Kotoko and Tarkwa based Medeama SC marking the occasion.
Medeama beat Kotoko 2-1 with Kofi Babil and Prosper Boakye scoring in the 21st and 89th minute respectively. Bernard Somuah scored Kotoko’s consolation.
Speaking in the post game interview after the loss to Max TV, Antwi, who joined Kotoko this offseason from relegated Accra Great Olympics was happy with the edifice.
“The atmosphere here in Tarkwa is crazy honestly. It was very very intense. This is just a friendly game, we are trying to build our team and I will plead with the supporters to pardon us for now…we will come back stronger.”
On his part, Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum stated he was pleased with the overall quality of the game and praised the quality of players he has in the team. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
