AJ Auxerre midfielder Elisha Owusu has been named in the starting lineup for the Black Stars against Angola.
The 2025 AFCON qualifier is scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi at 16:00 GMT on Thursday, September 5 in the first of a two legged tie.
Owusu’s availability for the game was heavily in doubt due to a muscle problem he is dealing with according to Black Stars head coach Otto Addo. That aside, Owusu was one of the late arrivals to the Black Stars camp. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey continues his run as captain of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team and starts alongside Owusu in midfield.
In the absence of Gideon Mensah, Ghana’s regular starter at left full back who missed the game to injury, Stade Rennes defender Alidu Seidu, will feature in that position.
