Football insider Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana is on the verge of joining Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam.

The Italian football transfer expert made this known on his X (formerly Twitter) page as the wait continues for Sulemana’s debut appearance in the 2024-2025 English Premier League as he nurses an injury.

According to Romano, Ajax have agreed a verbal agreement with Southampton for the 22 year old former Stade Rennes winger. At the time of writing, personal terms were being discussed.

However, the deal’s success is contingent on Ajax forward Steven Bergwijn’s purported move to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.

Sulemana joined Southampton from French Ligue 1 side Rennes in the January transfer window of the 2022-2023 season and has two goals and an assist in 18 English Premier League appearances. He spent the 2023-2024 season in the EFL Championship with The Saints.

Personal terms are still in negotiations.

Should he move to Ajax, Sulemana will follow the footsteps of fellow Right To Dream Academy product Mohammed Kudus who moved from FC Norsdjaelland to Ajax before moving to West Ham United.
