Angola’s National Men’s Football Team head coach, Pedro Goncalves, has labeled Agostinho Cristovao Paciencia, popularly known as Mabululu, as an important player for the team.

He said this in his pre-game presser ahead of Angola’s 2025 AFCON qualifier against Ghana at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, September 5 at 16:00 GMT.

Both nations are aiming to qualify from Group F to the 2025 AFCON that is set to be held in Morocco; Group F also has Sudan and Niger in contention.

After praising the quality of players both teams share and how much that will mean to promote African football, Goncalves talked how important veteran striker Mabululu is to the Angolan team. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“He’s built a very good career. He began right from the bottom and right now everybody is talking about him so I think he’s an example for young boys not only in Angola but also Africa. He is in a good moment (form), he’s an important player for us but fortunately we have others in a good moment (good form) and could be a good option for tomorrow.”
