Technical change wasn’t the only factor that affected Medeama’s title defence- Tony Aubynn

Medeama Sporting Club Board Chairman, Dr, Tony Aubynn, has shot down the idea that a change in its technical room led to the club’s poor title defence.

The Yellow and Mauve club won the Ghana Premier League title in the 2022-2023 season but finished eighth a season later in a flat title defence campaign with many believing that moving then head coach Evans Augustine Adotey to a Technical Advisor role and replacing him with Nebojsa Kapor as the reason.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with ChannelOne Sports where Dr. Aubynn talked about the team’s determination to win the Ghana League title for the second time, the veteran football administrator added, (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“I don’t think that (coaching change) was the reason. There are any factors that affected the level of performance. The intention of the change was positive…and the board took that decision.”

Two games into the 2024-2025 season, Medeama is unbeaten after picking up wins over Accra Lions and Legon Cities.
