Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew’s second run out with French Ligue 1 side Le Havre AC is off the mark after the veteran forward featured in Le Havre’s loss to Olympique Lyon.
Le Havre lost 4-0 at home to Lyon in the round of league games played immediately after the international break.
Ayew didn’t compete for Ghana during the break but did get to play his first game of the 2024-2025 season after subbing into the aforementioned contest in the 66th minute as a replacement for Timothee Pembele.
In 24 minutes, Andre Ayew had 10 touches and successfully completed six of seven passes but lost possession on two occasions.
Ayew officially signed to play out this season for Le Havre just before the international break after playing out the 2023-2024 season with the club where his string of strong performances helped the club escape relegation.
Fellow Black Stars player Ernest Nuamah replaced Malick Fofana in the 73rd minute for Lyon.
Nuamah played in both Ghana games against Sudan in 2025 AFCON qualifiers during the international break.
