The Palancas Negras (Black Antelopes) of Angola have secured their spot in the 2025 AFCON in Morocco after winning their latest game in the qualification phase.

Angola beat Niger 1-0 in Morocco with AEK Athens forward Zini scoring the game’s winner after just 48 seconds. Zini run to meet a long ball from deep and rounded up Niger goalkeeper Abiboulaye Hainikoye before slotting the ball into the net.

The win keeps Angola atop Group F standings with 12 points from four games and maintains Angola’s unbeaten run in the qualifiers.

The Pedro Goncalves side beat Ghana 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium to end Ghana’s 24 year unbeaten run at the stadium.

The 2006 FIFA World Cup participants added 2-1 and 2-0 wins over Sudan and Niger respectively to become the latest nation to secure qualification to compete in Morocco.

At the time of writing, Senegal, Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Algeria have also qualified to next year’s AFCON.
