Arsenal Football Club manager Mikel Arteta has praised the qualities of Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey by describing the 31 year old midfielder as a “massive player”.

He said this ahead of Arsenal’s English Premier League game against Southampton on Saturday, October at 14:00 GMT. Southampton is yet to win a game thus far this season.

After dealing with injuries for the most part of the 2023-2024 season, Partey has had a very healthy start to life in the 2024-2025 season.

The former Atletico Madrid player has played in all six league games and both UEFA Champions League games for the Gunners and his presence and performance isn’t lost on Arteta who stated in a pre-game presser that,

“He’s a key player for us, he’s a massive player for us and we can see that week in, week out. The way he came back post-holidays was probably the best condition that he’s been. Now it’s about managing him.”

Partey has been called up to Ghana’s squad for a crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier double header against Sudan on October 10 and October 15.
