Hero in West Ham United’s 2-1 win over Manchester United , Crysencio Summerville, says that he looks up to Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus a lot.
He said this in a post-game interview after scoring in the important win for West Ham that went into the game having lost 4-1 to Tottenham Hotspurs in a London Derby in the previous round.
After scoring what was his first goal for West Ham since joining the club prior to the start of the 2024-2025 season from Leeds United, Summerville run 50 yards to celebrate with Kudus who was on the bench.
Kudus missed the tie as he served the first of a three game suspension after receiving a red card for violent conduct in the loss to Spurs. Speaking on sharing the big moment, Summerville stated,
“He-Mohammed Kudus- told me it was a nice assist. (We are) Very close. I like Mo a lot. I look up to him as well, on and off the pitch so I was happy. I told him, when I come on, I’m going to score and I’m going to celebrate with you so that’s why the emotions came up.”
