Ghana Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori is set to begin life at Amazulu Football Club under a new coach following the sacking of Spanish coach Pablo Franco Martin.
Ofori was recently confirmed as Amazulu’s new goalkeeper with Martin at the helm but the latest development means that Ofori starts life at his new club under his second coach officially.
Aside Pablo Martin, assistant coach of Amazulu, Aitor Van Den Brule, has also been fired leading to the search for a new coach.
The changes come on the back of Amazulu suffering three straight losses ahead of a league matchup against giants Orlando Pirates on October 25.
Ofori joined Amazulu, ranked bottom of the 16 team South Africa Premier Soccer League standings at the time of writing, as a free agent after playing in the league for Maritzburg United and Orlando.
He has won three MTN 8 trophies in his career in South Africa; Ofori is yet to feature for the Black Stars since committing a huge blunder in Ghana’s 2-2 draw against Mozambique at the 2023 AFCON.
