A cross section of fans at the Accra Sports Stadium were seen celebrating a goal for Niger against Ghana in the final Group F game in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Niger beat Ghana 2-1 with the first Niger goal coming from central midfielder Ousseini Badamassi in the 22nd minute off a corner kick that had him score off a header when left unmarked inside the penalty box.

After the goal, groups of individuals reportedly identified as Ghanaian football fans, were captured in a video that has gone viral on social media, celebrate the goal that highlighted Ghana’s poor run in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Niger got its second goal through FC Rostov player Oumar Sako in the 92nd minute off another free header from a set piece.

Ghana has missed out on qualifying to next year’s AFCON in Morocco after failing to qualify to the continental championship for the first time in 20 years.
