Leicester City Football Club manager Steve Cooper has confirmed that Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been ruled out for the rest of the 2024-2025 season after picking up a serious knee injury.

Issahaku picked up the injury during Ghana’s 2025 AFCON qualifier against Angola in Luanda that had the Black Stars draw 1-1.

The Leicester player had to be attended to multiple times in the game before he was substituted at half time at a time Ghana led 1-0 courtesy a brilliant strike from fellow Leicester City player Jordan Ayew.

Ghana conceded in the second half through a Zini header; Ghana ended the qualifiers without a win and ranked bottom of Group F to fail to qualify to the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Issahaku confirmed that he was in good spirits after undergoing surgery to address the injury that is reported to be an ACL tear. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
