“I have not been impressed with Otto Addo’s utterances towards the media” – Veronica Commey

Veronica Commey, a member of the “Save Ghana Sports” Demo Movement, also expressed her disappointment with Otto Addo’s demeanour and responses to the media in recent months.

Her comments follow Otto Addo’s visibly dejected and frustrated appearance during the post-match press conference after Ghana’s loss to Niger.

“I’ve never given up on anything…if you fall 10 times, stand up the 11th time and do it…”

“I don’t want to go home because I’ll see my family crying…”

“I was born in Germany…but I always wanted to represent Ghana…”

The defeat has sparked widespread dissatisfaction among journalists and football fans alike.

Otto Addo dismissed claims that he’s not affected by Ghana’s poor results at a fiery press conference after the Black Stars’ 2-1 loss to Niger. He also touched on defending his players and clarified his comments about working under Jurgen Klopp.#CitiSports pic.twitter.com/P1gyAVqu5h

I watched Otto Addo play and when he was in the national team, I watched him very well.

He was always a very composed player.

He hadly will grant interviews, but if for any reason he had to speak, he had a lot of respect and he was always very calm.

The Otto Addo I have seen the last few weeks is not recognizable for me easily, but I get it, to be a coach is not easy and especially when you have to coach Ghana, where we have every right to make demands of you because we are a great football nation and we expect that you win a lot of matches and when games are simple and you lose or draw, we cannot take it lightly.

Especially after a defeat to Angola, then the Sudan game, Niger and all, I have seen a very different Otto Addo.

Without a doubt, the pressure is getting to him.

I do imagine that he knew what he signed on into when he decided to coach the Black Stars.
