Leicester City Football Club manager Steve Cooper has confirmed that Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew picked up an injury while on international duty with Ghana.
He made this confirmation via Leicester’s media outlet ahead of The Foxes game against Chelsea in the English Premier League on Saturday, November 23.
Jordan scored a brilliant goal in Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Angola in Luanda in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers but missed Ghana’s 2-1 loss to Niger in Accra due to the undisclosed injury.
Cooper also confirmed that fellow Black Stars player Abdul Fatawu Issahaku picked up an ACL injury while playing in the Angola match and was substituted at half time. He went on to describe the injury as a blow to Leicester. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
However, Cooper did quiet down fears about the severity of Jordan Ayew’s injury but wasn’t sure about the veteran forward’s availability for this weekend’s game.
“Jordan has come back injured from international duty. It’s not a serious injury contrary to some reports. The hope is he may be available for the weekend but we’re a little bit inconclusive on that for the minute.”
Since joining Leicester from Crystal Palace, Jordan Ayew has scored two goals in 10 games.
