Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has taken a major swipe at critics stating that communicating with former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has more value than statements from mere critics.
He said this in a presser ahead of Ghana’s final 2025 AFCON qualifier against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium at 16:00 GMT on Monday, November 16.
Responding to calls for his sacking in the wake of Ghana’s failure to qualify to the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, Otto Addo spoke about the coaching background he came from, pointing to getting tutored by former Borussia Dortmund head coach Klopp.
“I trained under [Matthias] Sammer. I trained under [Jurgen] Klopp; I was assistant to Edin Terzic, who was Dortmund’s head coach. They are also critical of some things, but this has much more value if I speak to Jurgen Klopp and he says this or that than somebody from anywhere saying blah blah, this is bad.”
Ghana is without a win heading to the game and have missed out on qualifying to the AFCON for the first time in 20 years.
