FC Samartex 1996 have appointed Christopher Ennin as head coach to see out the rest of the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League season.

Ennin’s appointment comes in the wake of the shock departure of Nurudeen Abdulai from the role recently. In Abdulai’s tenure, that lasted little over a year, Samartex won the GPL title for the first time in its history.

Under Abdulai, Samartex also competed in the CAF Champions League got ousted in the early rounds of the continental championship.

Ennin becomes the club’s third head coach appointment since Samartex gained qualification to compete in Ghana’s top flight.

Annor Walker guided the club to a 10th place finish in its debut season before Abdulai won the league title in the 2023-2024 season.

Ennin has experience coaching in the league after leading Berekum Chelsea in the 2023-2024 campaign before leaving his role on February 20, 2024.
