AFCON Qualifiers Group F members Angola and Ghana ended the year 2024 in opposite direction as Angola ended the year as the biggest gainers on the FIFA rankings while Ghana was one of the biggest losers.

Ghana failed to qualify to the 2025 AFCON that is set to be held in Morocco after finishing bottom in Group F while failing to win a game in six qualification games.

The Black Stars lost to Niger, Sudan and Angola in the process and failed to win any of its home games amid almost getting banned from hosting games in Ghana due to a lack of a CAF approved stadium.

As a result, Ghana ended 2024 ranked 77th further dropping four places in the rankings after ranking 67th in February.

On the other hand, Angola beat Ghana 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to end Ghana’s 24 year unbeaten run at the edifice.
