The President of the African Paralympic Committee (AfPC), Samson Deen, has extended a congratulatory message to Ghana’s president-elect, John Dramani Mahama, following his victory in the country’s recent presidential elections.

John Dramani Mahama emerged victorious, defeating his closest contender, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, along with 11 other candidates, to secure the presidency.

In an official letter, Samson Deen conveyed his congratulations on behalf of the AfPC and the broader Paralympic community, while also wishing Mahama success as he prepares to take office on January 7, 2025.

“The African Paralympic Committee (APC), the Paralympic Movement, and the entire sports fraternity across Africa warmly congratulate you on your resounding victory in Ghana’s presidential election. We pray for divine guidance as you prepare to take on the responsibilities and challenges of leading Ghana,” the message stated.

Deen further expressed confidence in Mahama’s leadership, stating,

“Those of us in the sports sector firmly believe in your ability to steer this great West African nation toward enhanced socioeconomic development and prosperity through your visionary and inclusive policies.”

Additionally, the AfPC president urged the president-elect to prioritize policies that would advance the development of sports infrastructure and nurture athletic talent across the nation.
