Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have clinched a 1-0 win over bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The top clash in the Ghana Premier League served up a lot of drama as the Porcupine Warriors left it really late and with virtually the last kick of the game to get the game’s only goal.
In-form forward Albert Amoah capitalized on a defensive mix up involving goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and Hearts defender Kelvin Osei Asibey to regain possession and slot the ball into the net in the 95th minute.
The goal sent Kotoko fans at the Baba Yara into utter ecstasy with Kotoko head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum captured celebrating wildly with his players and fans after the goal.
Both teams missed chances in the game with Hamza Issah blazing his effort over the bar and Baba Yahaya of Kotoko doing same in the 42nd minute.
However, the highlight of the game came in the 40th minute when Hearts defender Kelvin Osei Asibey delivered an outstanding tackle to win the ball off Amoah who was through on goal.
