Frederick Akatuk was the hero of the day, scoring the decisive goal in the 52nd minute to secure a crucial win in what was a tightly contested affair.

In the first half, Legon Cities showcased their characteristic ability to control the game, maintaining possession and dictating the tempo.

However, it was in the second half where they truly shone, a growing hallmark of their recent performances. Akatuk, who has now scored in back-to-back games, proved his value once again with a well-taken goal early in the half.

The match featured two sides with different stakes, Legon Cities aiming to solidify their position in the league and continue their fine form and Goldstars fighting to maintain their lead at the top despite dropping to second.

Despite Bibiani Goldstars’ valiant efforts, led by their defensive rock Gideon Anaba, they were unable to break through a resilient Legon Cities defence headed by the impressive Joseph Amoah, who seemed omnipresent in the backline.

This victory pushes Legon Cities up the league table, placing them firmly in 16th position with points 17 points, while Bibiani Goldstars drop to second with 33 points, but their lead has now been trimmed.

The result is a significant boost for Legon Cities as they continue to build momentum, and with Akatuk in fine form, they will be confident heading into their next fixture.
