Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has called on his team to maintain the intensity and desire that got them to lead the Ghana Premier League standings at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season first round.

Dr. Ogum made this call in a pre-game interview ahead of Kotoko’s clash against Nsoatreman on Sunday, February 2 at 15:00 GMT. Kotoko travel to the 14th ranked team.

Kotoko rode a seven game unbeaten run that includes a 1-0 win over arch rivals Hearts of Oak to end the first round on top of the league standings; the upcoming game marks Kotoko’s first outing in the second round of the season and Dr. Ogum wants his team to maintain the momentum.

“Being on top and staying there, these are two different things. We are now on top, we need to keep our momentum in terms of our intensity of play, in terms of our aggression, in terms of our desire, the commitment to play.”

“We need to double our efforts or even triple our efforts in all these areas…and with the right guidance on the field, I’m sure we will be able to stay there.”

Kotoko lead the standings with 34 points, a point ahead of second ranked Bibiani Gold Stars.
