President John Dramani Mahama has urged newly appointed Sports Minister Kofi Adams to prioritize the development of all sporting disciplines.

Speaking at the swearing in of Ministers at the Jubilee House, President Mahama emphasized the importance of rejuvenating Ghanaian sports, starting with football.

“I expect that you concentrate on building up all the sporting disciplines. I know the Ghana Football Association would be a good place to start to make sure that we return the Black Stars to their glory days,” President Mahama stated.

His remarks come at a time when Ghanaian football, particularly the national team, the Black Stars, has faced challenges in recent years. Many fans and analysts have called for comprehensive reforms to revive the team’s competitive edge on the global stage.

Sports and Recreation Minister-Designate Kofi Adams

Kofi Adams, who recently assumed office, is expected to work closely with key stakeholders, including the Ghana Football Association (GFA), to implement policies that will strengthen grassroots development, improve infrastructure, and ensure proper management of sports in the country.

With the backing of the Presidency, Adams’ leadership at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation is anticipated to bring fresh momentum to Ghana’s sporting sector.
