Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey has praised the fighting spirit and togetherness his Brighton and Hove Albion team showed in a big win over Chelsea.
Speaking in a post-game interview after aiding The Seagulls beat Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup to qualify to the fifth round of the competition.
Brighton recovered from a Cole Palmer goal via a howler from goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen in the fifth minute to beat The Blues with goals from Georginio Rutter and Kaoru Mitoma.
Lamptey starred in the game from the left full back position and was rewarded with the Man of the Man Award and was in a positive mood seeing his team recover to bag the win.
“Great win great win. Big performance from the boys the crowd is buzzing so yes we are happy.”

“These things (Verbruggen’s howler) happen in football, it’s good that everyone rallied round, showed the fighting spirit, we showed that we are all together and we worked hard to turn it around.”
Lamptey was the second Black Stars player to win the Man of the Match Award following the conclusion of fourth round games. Antoine Semenyo picked up the award after scoring in AFC Bournemouth’s 2-0 win over Everton.
