Glasgow Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has praised the role Ghana player Jeffrey Schlupp played in the Hoopers second goal in a 3-0 win over Dundee United.
Celtic bagged the big win thanks to goals from Callum McGregor, Adam Idah and Joao Neves Filipe with the latter’s goal being the second and drawing praise for Schlupp from Rodgers.
Schlupp made his debut for Celtic in the win over Dundee; the veteran Black Stars player signed for the Scottish club in the January transfer window on loan from Crystal Palace.
Speaking on the game to Celtic TV, Rodgers commended Schlupp for his role in Jota’s goal stating,
“Jeffrey opens up the space for it to go outside, then he makes a really good run that clears the space inside, and then it’s a wonderful finish” Rodgers said.

In his first game as a starter for Celtic, Schlupp played as a left full back and registered a clearance, three total tackles while winning four of five ground duels and winning two of five aerial duels.

Celtic are next in action in the UEFA Champions League playoffs on Tuesday, February 18 in Germany after losing 2-1 in the first leg in Scotland.
