MTN FA Cup Committee Chairman, Wilson Arthur, has praised the organization and security arrangements during the Round of 16 matches held over the weekend.
In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, he highlighted the swift response of the police and the cooperation of fans, attributing the smooth execution of the games to well-coordinated efforts.
The outcome of the Round of 16, with the seven games played, has been very positive and fulfilling. Situation multiplied by response always delivers the outcome. We faced some challenges, but our response—through the Executive Committee, PR efforts, and security measures—was on point.
Arthur specifically commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for his role in ensuring a secure atmosphere at the games.
The IGP’s intervention has been wonderful. The Ghana Police Service delivered exceptionally well, and their efforts deserve recognition.
Additionally, he praised the regional police commander for deploying 100 officers from various security branches, including the Prisons and Immigration Services, to ensure a safe environment.

We engaged the media to prepare supporters to attend the matches. We advised them not to bring sharp objects—no keys, no pens—just their hearts, ready to enjoy and support the beautiful game
