Nsoatreman FC assists Police in Pooley Death probe, responds to Asante Kotoko

Ghana Premier League side Nsoatreman FC has addressed Asante Kotoko’s press conference held on February 24, 2025, clarifying their stance following the tragic passing of Nana Pooley.

During the conference on Monday, Feb 24, Kotoko dismissed rumours of a “cold war” between the two clubs, noting they had not received any official communication from Nsoatreman regarding Pooley’s death.

In a statement, Nsoatreman emphasized their active collaboration with the Ghana Police Service in investigating the circumstances surrounding Pooley’s death, urging fans and the public to remain calm and patient as the probe continues.

The statement comes amid speculation and grief in the football community, following Pooley’s collapse during a match against Kotoko on February 2, 2025.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been inactive in competitive football since the incident but is set to resume action on March 8, after Pooley’s final funeral rites on March 6.

The Porcupines stayed out of the MTN FA Cup action this weekend against Sekondi Eleven Wise after initially staying with their stance of not participating in any football-related activity.

Meanwhile, other Ghana Premier League clubs returned to competitive play over the weekend in the MTN FA Cup, marking their first fixtures since Pooley’s passing and signalling a gradual return to normalcy in the league.
