The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of a female suspect in connection to the clashes that erupted during and after the Ghana Premier League Week 19 matchup between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC confirming the statement made by Ghana Football Association Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong after a meeting between GFA officials, Kotoko officials and the Inspector General of Police, George Dampare.
The suspect, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa also known as Akosua Black Chinese, becomes the sixth person arrested in connection to the chaos that occurred at the Nana Koramansah Park in Nsoatre.
According to a statement released by the Ghana Police Service on Thursday, February 6, Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa is in the Police’s custody and assisting with the investigation.
Executive Chairman of Nsoatreman FC who is a former Employment and Labour Minister, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, was among the first group of individuals arrested in connection to the clashes that led to the death of popular Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong popularly known as Pooley.
