Ghana Police Service appoints Sports Safety and Security Officers in each Region

IGP Akuffo Dampare with some GFA officials

The Ghana Police leadership under the instruction of the Inspector General of Police have fulfilled its promise to appoint a dedicated senior officer in each region to be responsible for Sports Policing.

The role termed as the Regional Sports Security Officer will be responsible for the overall Coordinating and Operations of Matchday Security for all GFA sanctioned competitions.

All sixteen officers have been invited to the zonal workshop for safety and security officers which starts at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Friday, March 7, 2025.

This ground breaking announcement forms part of the joint robust approach of the Ghana Police Service and Ghana Football Association to improve the Safety and Security at Match venues across the country.
