Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has charged players of Ghana’s National Men’s Football, the Black Stars, to see themselves as the best in Africa and to display such mindset in their game against Chad.
The Black Stars take on Chad in the first of two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday, March 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Sports Minister made this statement in his address to the Black Stars after Day 2 of the team’s training session that had Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku lead a high powered delegation that included GFA Executive Council Members Gifty Oware, Nana Oduro Sarfo and Frederick Acheampong that visited the team’s training session.
“You are the best; that is the mentality you should go on to the pitch with. You are the best. This is a team game, see yourself as the best.”

“If you ever heard anything outside, that shouldn’t determine what you do, you are the best; that is the position of the country, we are solidly behind you. Don’t play with the mindset that anybody is against you, no. We are with you all the way” Kofi Adams said.

Ghana ranks second in Group I but is tied on points (nine) with group leaders Comoros ahead of the games against Chad and Madagascar. Scroll down to watch videos of Black Stars training second training session.
