The team’s journey to Egypt follows intensive preparations, including a week-long training camp in Accra and a three-nation tournament in Rabat, Morocco, where they honed their skills against top African youth sides.

Drawn in Group C alongside defending Champions Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic.

The tournament holds extra significance as the top four semi-finalists will secure automatic qualification for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, scheduled for September 27 to October 19, 2025.

Ghana, a powerhouse in African youth football, boasts an illustrious history, having won the U-20 AFCON in 1993, 1999, 2009, and 2021, and making history as the first African team to lift the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2009.
