Ghanaian left-back Ebenezer Annan has clinched his first major title, helping FK Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) secure the 2023/24 Serbian SuperLiga crown.

The triumph marks the 22-year-old Black Stars defender’s first piece of silverware in his professional career ; a significant milestone in his development since moving to Europe.

Annan returned to Crvena Zvezda in January following a productive loan spell with OFK Beograd in the Serbian second tier, where he made 19 appearances, contributed four assists, and scored once during the first half of the campaign.

In total, he made 29 appearances across the 2023/24 season, with six assists and one goal to his name ; an impressive return for a full-back.

Crvena Zvezda’s league triumph is the club’s 36th domestic title and secures direct qualification to the group stage of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League. Although Annan was ineligible for this season’s European campaign due to his loan move, he is expected to be part of the squad next season — a long-held dream that may soon become reality.
