Member of Parliament for Akuapim North, Samuel Awuku popularly known as Sammy Awuku, welcomed an entourage from the Ghana Basketball Federation ahead of the 3×3 Hoop Rave Basketball Championship.
The upcoming basketball competition is scheduled to be held at the Trust Sports Emporium at Bukoum, a suburb in Ghana’s capital, Accra from April 10 to April 12.
The Member of Parliament for Akuapim North met the Basketball Federation entourage during the group’s Eastern Region leg of the national tour that has had stops in the Ashanti, Bono, Western, Volta and Central Regions.
The entourage was led by Ghana Basketball Federation President Ato Van-Ess and Sammy Awuku, who is a former National Lottery Authority Director General, endorsed the 3×3 Hoop Rave Championship.
42 Senior High Schools (18 girls, 24 boys) are scheduled to participate in the three day competition that will be held on the back of Ghana’s brilliant run at the 2023 African Games.
Ghana finished second behind Algeria in the Men’s 3×3 event and narrowly missed out on making it to the medal zone in the Women’s Division.
