Arsenal FC manager Mikel Arteta has talked about the quality of Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey in the wake of Arsenal’s loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners lost 1-0 to PSG at the Emirates Stadium in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals that had Partey miss out on competing in the game.
Partey didn’t feature in the game for disciplinary reasons after picking up a yellow card in the 85th minute in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Real Madrid in Spain in the second leg of the Champions League at the quarterfinal stage.
Arsenal conceded in the fourth minute to Ousmane Dembele’s smart finish that completed a 26 pass sequence from PSG.
“We know how important Thomas Partey is but lucky enough we have good depth in midfield that everyone can step in. Declan [Rice] as the six showed a good game, he was good on the ball and everyone was really good today. “He gives options and a different threat. It gives us flexibility to change the game. It’s half-time and we have a big chance to be in the final” Arteta said in a post-game interview with Amazon Prime.

The second leg takes in Paris, France on Wednesday, May 7.
