GFA terminates media rights renewal talks with StarTimes amid outstanding debt

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the cessation of all negotiations with StarTimes regarding the renewal of their Media Broadcast Rights agreement as of March 2025.

This announcement follows the conclusion of the previous broadcast contract at the end of the 2023/24 football season.

While both parties engaged in discussions aimed at extending the partnership, they were ultimately unable to reach a consensus on the terms for renewal.

In light of this, the GFA has formally informed StarTimes of the termination of talks and is now pursuing recovery of an outstanding debt totaling USD 842,173.36, owed by StarTimes under the previous agreement.

The Association has retained legal representatives and initiated formal proceedings to ensure the repayment of this amount.
