Ghana B’ball: Rivalry with Nungua Coldstore is a healthy one- Spintex Knights Co-Founder

Spintex Knights Basketball Club co-founder, Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi, has described the rivalry his team shares with Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club as a healthy one.

He made this confession in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of Knights game against Coldstore on Saturday, May 17 at 18:00 GMT at the El-Wak Stadium in the round’s biggest game.

The teams battled in close games in the Tema Community Basketball League years back before both migrated to the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I that Knights have won back to back league titles.

“We are mostly in the same locality, it is a healthy rivalry of two friends that want to see Ghana basketball at the highest level. It is a healthy rivalry of two people who are investing in their team so they become the game changers for basketball. Anytime the narrative is being written about Ghana basketball, I believe the rivalry between Spintex Knights and Nungua Coldstore is something that will be noted” Dr. Opoku-Antwi said.

Knights beat Tema Youth 85-54 in its last league outing.
