Nations Football Club Brands Manager, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, is adamant that his club will be just fine dealing with the absence of captain and key defender Razak Simpson.

Simpson is set to miss Nations’ Ghana Premier League game against Basake Holy Stars at Ayinase in the Western Region in the penultimate game of the 2024-2025 season.

Nations’ game against Holy Stars takes place on Sunday, June 1 at 15:00 GMT and marks the second game Simpson will miss due to his involvement in the Unity Cup with Ghana’s Black Stars.

Simpson played out the entire duration of Ghana’s 2-1 loss to Nigeria in the Unity Cup at the G-Tech Community Stadium.

Simpson scored an own goal in the loss that condemned Ghana to battle for third place against Trinidad and Tobago this weekend but Boakye Ansah believes firmly that Nations will handle business against Holy Stars to maintain its title chase.

“Fortunately for us, we have a very solid squad so in as much as we would have loved to see Razak [Simpson] in the game against Holy Stars, we have worthy replacement for him. We will miss his presence on the field but in terms of the team, I’m sure we have worthy replacement for Razak Simpson.”

Nations hold a three point lead over second ranked Bibiani Gold Stars in the lead up to the game against Holy Stars.
